13 July 1831
It was on this warm summer’s day that William Edwards became a proud father, his beautiful wife had given birth to their first son. Martha smiled at her husband as the newborn lay in bliss upon her shoulder.

part 1 of 3 of chapter 1
29 September 1916
If anyone had happened to be near the Edwards mansion on the eve of the 29th September 1916, they would of heard a sound that can only be described as otherworldly. A woman, in pain, anguish and absolute terror was screaming into the night.
But of course on that eve, not a soul came by. If they had they might of heard the screams lapse into silence, they might of listened as the grounds slowly echoed that silence back and they might of seen a shadowed figure running from behind the east wing. But as I have said, this isn’t what happened.
So on that eve as the silence settled in and the shadowed figure ran away, it would of seemed to any outsider as a normal, picturesque mansion set in beautiful grounds with nothing out of the ordinary.
After a while another sound started up, not as terrifying as the screams of earlier. This sound however, was far more disconcerting; a baby’s cry that rang clear into the night...
